Education
The University Ethics and Compliance Office maintains this website to provide current information regarding the University Ethics and Compliance Program, Ethics Line reporting information, and links to key system and university policies and offices.
The University Ethics and Compliance Office addresses compliance training at two levels. First, the Office designs and implements an established annual state-mandated ethics training program completed by every system employee. Second, the ethics training is supplemented by training on a range of specific compliance topics.
To help compliance information flow more freely across the system’s decentralized compliance network, the University Ethics and Compliance Office uses the Compliance Officer Network. Network participants include compliance professionals working at all levels in the universities. Compliance updates are distributed to the Network by e-mail on an as-needed basis. Ultimately, the objective of the Network is to connect compliance professionals across the system and to use the Network as a vehicle to disseminate information and share best practices.
The University Ethics and Compliance Office makes posters available to units at all three universities to encourage employees to “do their part” and to inspire and foster ethical conduct. In addition, all Office staff use signature blocks on their e-mails that promote Ethics Line awareness.
To further promote a culture of compliance, the University Ethics and Compliance Office uses short animated videos to increase awareness on important compliance topics. The videos are branded as telling employees what they need to know about the topic in less than five minutes.
