Deadlines

Employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interests (Statement) with the Office of the Secretary of State must file their electronic submission by 11:59 PM on May 1st. This is an absolute deadline, after which, financial penalties ensue.

 

**Employees filing from outside of the US using the paper version must have the signed document delivered to the University Ethics and Compliance Office by no later than April 29, 2024 (to ensure sufficient time for Ethics Officer review/approval and subsequent delivery to the Secretary of State for filing by the deadline)

Penalties

Forms filed between May 1 and May 15 will be assessed a late fee of $15. Beginning May 16th, any form filed will be asses the flat $15 rate, in addition to a $100/day charge for as many days late as the form is received. For example: If a form is received by the Office of the Secretary of State May 10th, the filer will be fined $15. However, if the form is not received until May 20th, the filer will be fined $515. These fines are assessed to individuals only and must be paid personally by the delinquent filers to the Office of the Secretary of State.
