Harassment and Discrimination and Title IX Training

All university employees (excluding undergraduate student workers and extra help employees who satisfy their requirements as part of the annual ethics training process in the fall) are required to complete the Harassment and Discrimination + Title IX training module. This is an online course regarding sexual misconduct and illegal forms of harassment and your reporting responsibilities as a University of Illinois employee, which is to be completed during the spring semester, annually.

The program will be available this year from:

March 1 - March 31, 2023

 

On March 1st, employees will receive log-in instructions and deadlines for completion through their official university email account, prompting them to complete their training. These communications will include instructions for accessing the course and employees will log into the module using their university netid and password.

This training is a mandatory, annual requirement, based on the Clery Act (Clery), the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. All employees*, including those on paid sabbaticals, are required to complete the course. It takes approximately two hours to complete the module and this should be done on work time, unless otherwise directed by a supervisor. The course must be completed by 5:00 pm CT on March 31, 2023 and any employees not fully complete (partial completions will not be honored) will be disciplined for noncompliance, up to and including dismissal.

*Please Note: Undergraduate student workers and extra help employees are not required to complete the Preventing Harassment and Discrimination training module. They satisfy their training requirements through the Seasonal, Temporary and Medical Resident Training in the fall.

Accessing the Course:

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://go.uillinois.edu/sexual_misconduct_training
  2. Enter your university net id and password
  3. Click the Sign In/Login button
  4. Authenticate using the 2FA (call, text, or passcode)
  5. A Harassment and Discrimination + Title IX training icon will appear on your dashboard. Select the blue "Start" button to begin your course
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts (some pages may require scrolling depending on screen size and resolution) to complete your course
  7. Once all coursework is complete, you will have the option to "Download Certificate" from the dashboard

Employees who are not registered or do not see a course on their screen may self-register as follows:

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://go.uillinois.edu/sexual_misconduct_training
  2. Enter your university net id and password
  3. Click the Sign In/Login button
  4. Authenticate using the 2FA (call, text, or passcode)
  5. On your dashboard, select the blue "Add modules" button below the "Your Courses" header
  6. Confirm your Harassment and Discrimination + Title IX training is being assigned from the correct campus location, as per the pop-up box. If this information is correct, select the green "Add" button. **Do not add the Voices for Change training as this is the training designated for students, not faculty and staff.
  7. Harassment and Discrimination + Title IX training icon will appear on your screen. Select the blue "Start" button to begin your course
  8. Follow the on-screen prompts (some pages may require scrolling depending on screen size and resolution) to complete your course
  9. Once all coursework is complete, you will have the option to "Download Certificate" from the dashboard
