Analysis and Remediation of Any Underlying Misconduct

The University Ethics and Compliance Office, together with University Counsel and other System officials depending upon the nature of the matter under investigation, assess investigations to determine the scope of impact and any necessary corrective actions. The University Ethics and Compliance Office then follows up, as necessary, to verify the matter has been resolved consistent with the findings and recommendations, if any, resulting from the investigation. Recommendations can be used to address any potential for recurrence of similar misconduct. For example, recommendations could include amending existing policies and procedures to address an identified weakness in internal controls, requiring additional training, or increasing compliance awareness regarding the area in question.
